Noel Rowland
CEO

Noel Rowland joined the Institute in December 1994 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 1998.

Noel is an experienced association executive having worked for a number of industry associations, the last being Aged Care Australia. He has previously been active in the Australian Society of Association Executives, holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University, and completed the Graduate Certificate in Association Management at Monash Mt Eliza Business School in 1997.

Prior to moving into association management Noel was an advisor to a Federal politician. 

As with past organisations he represents the Institute on various industry forums and groups, including the Tax Commissioner's CEO Forum.

He is also a former member of the Law Society of NSW's Professional Conduct Committee.

Noel is also an active member of The Executive Connection, an international organisation of CEO's and Managing Directors.

Noel is a Director of the Australian Tax Research Foundation, an independent Foundation that conducts and publishes tax policy research.

Robert Jeremenko - Senior Tax Counsel

Robert Jeremenko
Senior Tax Counsel

Robert Jeremenko is Senior Tax Counsel and heads the Tax Policy and Research team. Robert leads the Institute's advocacy and research activities and is responsible for contributing to and influencing the development of Federal and State tax policy and administration. Robert also represents the views and expertise of members to the media.

Robert joins us after five years at one of Australia's largest banks, where he held the roles of Head of International Government Affairs, Group Manager Government Affairs and Senior Adviser Regulatory Affairs. Prior to this, Robert was taxation adviser on the personal staff of the Australian Federal Treasurer, where he worked on the implementation of the GST laws and broader taxation policy over a four year period.

Robert holds degrees in Law and Science from the Australian National University and is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Australia.

Ruth Ferraro - General Manager Education

Ruth Ferraro
General Manager Education 

Ruth Ferraro is the General Manager of Education and is responsible for the Events and Education Division of the Institute. She holds a Master of Adult Education and Training (UTS 1999) and a Master of Business (UTS 2005). Prior to joining the Tax Institute of Australia in March 2005, Ruth's previous experience spanned educational roles in other membership organisations in the finance, investment, accounting and financial planning sectors. Since joining the Tax Institute Ruth has overseen the development and implementation of the Institute's Tax Education Program.

Alex Munroe
General Manager Information Products 

Alex Munroe is the General Manager of Information Products and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Institute's publications and digital media. These include books, journals, subscriptions, websites and newsletters as well as the TaxLine Library Research Service. Alex manages a team of professionals comprising publishers, online product managers, editors, production management, designers, online developers and librarians who service our Members as well as the Institute's internal functions. She holds a BA (Hons) from the Australian National University, an MA from Sydney University and a Graduate Certificate in Management (AGSM).

Alex has in excess of 20 years' experience in publishing, media and business strategy. Alex's previous roles have been in commercial publishing and product management for both Random House and Pan Macmillan Publishers. She has consulted to various small organisations on custom publishing initiatives and strategy development and implementation.

Anna Mirzayan
General Manager Marketing 

Anna Mirzayan is the General Manager of Marketing and is responsible for the Institute's brand, marketing, PR, promotions, membership and Business Alliance Partners. Anna holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing), Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, Diploma of Accounting and Direct Marketing and Digital Marketing Certificates from ADMA.  Prior to joining the Tax Institute in November 2008, Anna's previous experiences spanned senior marketing roles with industry associations, higher education, vocational education, training organisations and prior to that having worked in the banking and property sectors.

Des Reynolds
Chief Financial Officer 

Des has worked in finance and administration roles for over 20 years. He is responsible for Finance, Administration, IT, Membership and Property at the Institute. Des has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of NSW. He is a Fellow member of the CPAs (FCPA), and an Associate member of the Chartered Secretaries (ACIS), FTIA and is a JP.

Des has experience in a number of industries having worked for TNT in Australia and Radio 2GB, and Abraxas in the U.K. Des worked for over 10 years at Insearch Ltd a large education company owned by the University of Technology Sydney. Before joining the Tax Institute Des was the Financial Controller of the Property Council of Australia.

Jessi Towns is the National Professional Development Manager and is responsible for the Institute's national CPD program including national events, national roadshows and online CPD.

Jessi has in over ten years' experience in the development and delivery of professional development programs and holds a Bachelor of Business (UTS) and an Executive Certificate in Event Management (UTS).

Kirsty Payne
Online & CPD Initiatives Manager

Kirsty is the Online & CPD Initiatives Manager. Kirsty works with the National committee to manage the delivery of the most relevant tax related CPD events. Before her role as Online & CPD Initiatives Manager, Kirsty was the NSW/ACT State Manager, prior to that she held the Course Operations Manager role of The Tax Institute's Tax Education Division and prior to this was a member of the Tax Policy and Research team. Kirsty has been with the Institute since 2002.

Paula Quirk-Russo - Queensland State Manager

Paula Quirk Russo joined the Tax Institute of Australia as State Manager for Queensland in 2009. Based in Brisbane Paula and the Queensland team are responsible for the State wide delivery of the Institute's core programs including education products and services, membership, tax technical and business development.

Paula brings to the Institute a long and successful career in senior management roles with both industry associations and commercial enterprises.

Asta Morton
Western Australia State Manager

Asta Morton joined the Tax Institute of Australia as State Manager for Western Australia in 2010. Based in Perth Asta and the WA team are responsible for the State wide delivery of the Institute's core programs including education products and services, membership, tax technical and business development.

Asta bring to the Institute experience from the commercial, Government and not for profit sectors within finance, logistics, business strategy and management areas. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Canberra.

Angelika Hislop is the State Manager for the South Australian & Northern Territory Division of the Tax Institute and is responsible for ensuring the achievement of the Institute's strategic objectives at the State level in relation to education products and services, membership, tax technical and business development. Angelika joined the organisation in August 2006 following eight years with the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Her previous work experience encompasses relationship management, education & training, sales & marketing for various organisations in the Association, Further Education, Marketing, Hospitality and Medical industries.
