Noel Rowland
Noel Rowland CEO

Noel joined the Institute in December 1994 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 1998. He is an experienced association executive having worked for a number of industry associations, the last being Aged Care Australia. He has previously been active in the Australian Society of Association Executives and completed the Graduate Certificate in Association Management at Monash Mt Eliza Business School in 1997. Prior to moving into association management Noel was an advisor to a Federal politician. As with past organisations, he represents the Institute on various industry forums and groups, and is currently a member of the Business Entry Point Consultative Group. He is also an active member of The Executive Connection, an international organisation of CEOs and Managing Directors.

Ruth Ferraro
Ruth Ferraro General Manager Education & Professional Standards
General Manager Education & Professional Standards

Ruth is the General Manager of Education and is responsible for the Events and Education Division of the Institute. She holds a Master of Adult Education and Training (UTS 1999) and a Master of Business (UTS 2005). Prior to joining the Taxation Institute of Australia in March 2005, Ruth's previous experience spanned educational roles in other membership organisations in the finance, investment, accounting and financial planning sectors. Since joining the Taxation Institute Ruth has overseen the development and implementation of the Institute's Structured Education Program.

Alexandra Munroe
Alexandra Munroe General Manager Information Products
General Manager Information Products

Alex Munroe is the General Manager of Information Products and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Institute's publications and digital media. These include books, journals, subscriptions, websites and newsletters as well as the TaxLine Library Research Service. Alex manages a team of professionals comprising publishers, online product managers, editors, production management, designers, online developers and librarians who service our Members as well as the Institute's internal functions. She holds a BA (Hons) from the Australian National University, and an MA from Sydney University. Alex has in excess of 20 years' experience in publishing, media and business strategy. Alex's previous roles have been in commercial publishing and product management for both Random House and Pan Macmillan Publishers. She has consulted to various small organisations on custom publishing initiatives and strategy development and implementation.

Finance and Administration

Kerryn Divall
General Manager Finance and Administration

Kerryn joined the Institute in 2013 and manages the essential support functions of finance, IT and membership services. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (UNSW) and is a CPA. Kerryn is an experienced executive with extensive experience across a number of sectors including Financial Markets, IT, Recruitment and now, Not for Profit. Previously, she was the CFO at Kelly Services ANZ (a global fortune 500 company), and prior to that General Manager, Finance at the Clarius Group (an ASX listed international company).

Sharon Kells
General Manager State Operations

A people focused, passionate and commercially astute leader, Sharon has extensive experience in driving the strategic direction and operational management of national training businesses. Sharon has previously run her own change management business and prior to that was the General Manager, Training & Development at the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Philippa Cardigan
Philippa Cardigan State Manager - NSW/ACT
State Manager - NSW/ACT

Philippa Cardigan joined The Tax Institute as part of the NSW team at the start of 2012 and is now the National Professional Development Manager. She is responsible for the Institute's Flagship CPD program and all professional development in NSW. Philippa holds a BSc in Business and an MA from the UK. She brings with her a wealth of experience in events and production, including making programs for the BBC for six years at an independent production company in the UK.

Victoria State Manager

Ruth White joined the Tax Institute in 2007 as State Manager for Victoria and Tasmania. Prior to this, Ruth spent several years in Education recruitment in the U.K in sales, marketing and general management roles, and has a background in education as a certified secondary school teacher in NZ.

Queensland State Manager

Paula Quirk Russo joined the Tax Institute of Australia as State Manager for Queensland in 2009. Based in Brisbane Paula and the Queensland team are responsible for the State wide delivery of the Institute's core programs including education products and services, membership, tax technical and business development. Paula brings to the Institute a long and successful career in senior management roles with both industry associations and commercial enterprises.

Angelika Hislop
Angelika Hislop South Australia State Manager
South Australia State Manager

Angelika Hislop is the State Manager for the South Australian & Northern Territory Division of the Tax Institute and is responsible for ensuring the achievement of the Institute's strategic objectives at the State level in relation to continuing professional development, education, products and services, membership, tax technical and business development. Angelika joined the organisation in August 2006 following eight years with the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Her previous work experience encompasses relationship management, education & training, sales & marketing for various organisations in the Association, Further Education, Marketing, Hospitality and Medical industries.

Brian Martin
Brian Martin Western Australia State Manager
Western Australia State Manager

Brian joined The Tax Institute as State Manager WA in 2015. He brings over 19 years of relationship management, business development and marketing experience in European, US and Australian markets, in a variety of sectors including association management accounting, financial services, tourism and agribusiness. Prior to joining The Tax Institute, Brian most recently worked in senior business development roles with Perpetual Private and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia. Originally from Ireland, he is a graduate of University College Dublin's Graduate Business School where he gained a Master of Business Studies and a Postgraduate Higher Diploma in Business Studies. He also has a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees.
