Author profiles:

Paul is a Director in PwC's Tax Controversy team based in Melbourne. In 2010, Paul McCartin joined PwC after 12 years at the ATO where he performed a variety of senior compliance and technical roles including working as an Assistant Commissioner in both the Large Business and International and the Aggressive Tax Planning business lines. Paul was also the ATO's Washington DC delegate on the Joint International Tax Shelter Information Centre (JITSIC). Paul offers clients the benefit of his experience and insights to develop strategies to more effectively manage the spectrum of tax controversies, particularly focusing on cross border financing and Part IVA disputes.

Ronen Vexler is a Tax Partner in PwC’s Sydney tax practice. Ronen leads PwC’s Tax Accounting Services practice and advises a broad range of clients on corporate tax issues, including tax accounting and tax governance. Ronen has developed extensive expertise in dealing with technical and practical issues in this area, including implementation of new accounting standards and dealing with the tax accounting and governance implications of corporate tax issues and risks. Ronen is a member of the Large Business Advisory Group.
