Introducing the Chartered Tax Adviser Program

From 2013, The Tax Institute will be implementing a new program – The Chartered Tax Adviser Program – replacing the existing Tax Education Program. Going forward, the Diploma of Advanced Tax assessment only will now be known as CTA3 Advisory Exam.

Exemptions


Successful completion of the exam will allow you to qualify for the Chartered Tax Adviser designation, recognised in a number of international jurisdictions (including the UK, Ireland and Europe).

Graduates of the CTA3 Advisory Exam will gain use of the Chartered Tax Adviser designation, as well as:

  • credit for the income tax unit (Taxation Advanced 569) for one of the following postgraduates programs offered by Curtin University School of Business Law and Taxation:
    • Master of Taxation
    • Master of Commerce (Taxation).

Progression

Completion

On successful completion of CTA3 Advisory Exam, candidates will receive a certificate of completion. Please contact your local state office for graduation ceremony details.

The Institute offers a range of continuing professional development (CPD) seminars and events, as well as tax publications, to continue your learning and development throughout your career.

Membership pathways

On successful completion of CTA3 Advisory Exam candidates are eligible to apply to become a Chartered Tax Adviser member of the Institute.
