Exemptions
Successful completion of CTA3 Advisory and its exam will allow you to qualify for the Chartered Tax Adviser designation, recognised in a number of international jurisdictions (including the UK, Ireland and Europe).
Graduates of CTA3 Advisory and the exam will also gain:
- credit for the income tax unit (Taxation Advanced 569) for one of the following postgraduate programs offered by Curtin University School of Business Law and Taxation:
- Master of Taxation
- Master of Commerce (Taxation).
Graduates in New South Wales who also meet the entry requirements for the Law Society of New South Wales Specialist Accreditation Program in the practice area of business and personal taxation law:
- will automatically satisfy the written examination component of the Specialist Accreditation Program
- may also satisfy one or more of the questions in the mock file (at the discretion of the advisory committee for business and personal taxation law).
The Tax Institute is a Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) approved provider.
Progression
Completion
On successful completion of CTA3 Advisory, candidates will receive a certificate of completion. Please contact your local state office for graduation ceremony details.

The Institute offers a range of continuing professional development (CPD) seminars and events, as well as tax publications, to continue your learning and development throughout your career.
Membership pathways
On successful completion of CTA3 Advisory candidates are eligible to apply to become a Chartered Tax Adviser member of the Institute.
