He has been involved in taxation matters for over 30 years, the last six as a sole practitioner, and has been tracking the evolution of the AMLCTF legislation and its likely impact on service providers for the last three years. David is the author of Investigations by Administrative Agencies.

Peter Murray FTIA
Peter is a Tax Partner at KPMG. He has been a Partner for 13 years. Peter is also the firm’s National Leader for Tax Consolidation. Peter has been involved with Tax Consolidation for the last seven years, being a member of the ATO / Treasury Consolidation Joint Design Team, as well as a number of ATO Consolidation working parties. Peter has advised a number of KPMG's clients on consolidation issues, as well as domestic and international tax matters. Peter has also represented the Tax Institute in consultation with the ATO on Phillips service trusts, as well as advising professional firms on ATO service trust audits and structuring professional firms in light of Commissioner’s taxation ruling TR 2006/5.

Stephen Healey FTIA
Stephen Healey is a Tax Partner with Deloitte and, for more than 15 years, has been advising a broad range of clients operating in a wide range of industries on most matters pertaining to corporate taxation. He has significant experience in advising on most areas of Australian income tax law and has advised on many transactions, both domestically and internationally.  Stephen was appointed a National Councillor of the Tax Institute of Australia in September 2008 and is a member of the Queensland State Council, in respect of which he was State Chairman in 2005.

Ken Schurgott FTIA
Ken is a tax and commercial law partner in the Sydney office of SBN Lawyers.  He has extensive experience in all aspects of tax (including State taxes) as well as business structuring, asset protection,  succession planning and trust and estate law.  Ken is a National Councillor of the Tax Institute and a member of the NSW Divisional Council and Education Committee.  He is also a member of the Advisory Panel to the Board of Taxation and has recently been involved as a member of the Working Group on Managed Investment Trusts.

Michael Flynn FTIA
Michael has been a member of the Victorian Bar since 1993 practising principally in taxation law. He is the immediate past chairman of the Victorian Division of the Taxation Institute. Michael is the editor of the Laws of Australia Revenue Law Volume and is also the co-author of Death and Taxes, a book about the tax consequences of death (published in December 2004).

Arthur Athanasiou FTIA
Arthur Athanasiou is a Partner with Rigby Cooke Lawyers and an Accredited Specialist in tax law with the Law Institute of Victoria.  He has significant expertise and experience in the areas of accounting and taxation, with a Bachelor of Economics, a Law degree, a Graduate Diploma in Accounting and a Master of Laws.

Arthur is a State Councillor of the Victorian Division of the Tax Institute of Australia.  He is also a member of the LIV Accredited Specialist Committee in tax law.

Arthur started his career as an accountant in 1985, working for Mann Judd and Touche Ross and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987.  He then worked as a Financial Controller with a national freight distribution company, while studying for his law degree.

Lachlan Wolfers FTIA
Lachlan is a tax partner at KPMG and a director of KPMG Tax Lawyers Pty Ltd. Lachlan is the leader of KPMG's indirect tax practice in Sydney, and in recent years, has developed an extensive tax litigation practice. Lachlan is a National Councillor of the Tax Institute, and Chair of its Corporate Subcommittee and former Chair of its GST and Indirect Tax Subcommittee. Lachlan has written for a vast range of publications, including on the topics of CGT, GST and income tax, and is a regular media commentator on tax matters.

Wayne Healy FTIA
Wayne Healy is the Managing Director of McGillivrays Accountants Perth, a firm specialising in tax and business advisory services. Wayne's expertise, developed over 25 years with this firm, is with small and medium enterprises. Wayne is also a Fellow of CPA Australia and has a keen focus on education and promotion of accounting. He advises clients on both domestic and international tax and business matters and takes a particular interests in Trust structures. As Managing Director he is principally responsible for leadership and coaching within the practice.

Wayne is a past chairman of the Western Australian Division of the Taxation Institute, past chairman of the Western Australian Education Committee and currently participates in both committees. He is an active board member of the Employers Advisory Board guiding the Taxation Institute in relation to the Structured Education program from its inception. Wayne has also held roles on the National Education Committee, National Convention Committees, National Membership and Services Committee and Western Australian State Convention Committee. Wayne was appointed to National Council in January 2010.
