A wide selection of accompanying persons tours will be offered in 2008 highlighting the best of Adelaide and its surrounds. The tours have been designed specifically for National Convention delegates and their families.
All tours operate with minimum numbers. All rates quoted include GST.

Introducing Adelaide
Depart: 9.00am Return: 1.00pm
Cost: $60 per person (includes morning tea)
This tour consists of part walk / part coach and presents an excellent introduction to the culture and heritage of Adelaide. You will experience heritage buildings with outstanding interiors, fantastic art and design at The Jam Factory and the Craft and Design Centre, the city’s square mile, a visit to the famous Haigh’s Chocolate Factory and more!
Discover the Artist in you
Depart: 9.30am Return: 1.30pm
Cost: $120 per person (does not include lunch)
Create your own silk scarf or tie to proudly wear or give as a gift for someone special, at this hands-on workshop. Guided by Adelaide based textile artist Robin Henwood, you will learn the important techniques of creating your own designs on silk for a truly memorable effect.
Time in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens
Depart: 9.45am Return: 3.30pm
Cost: $70 per person (includes lunch)
The picturesque Botanic Gardens are a haven in the heart of the city - the Botanic Park, International Rose Garden and Bicentennial Conservatory, heritage buildings, sculptures and water features – make the tranquil beauty of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens timeless. You will enjoy a cruise along the River Torrens on “Popeye” to the Botanic Gardens, and then enjoy a guided walk through the Gardens with a specialist garden guide. After a light lunch you will have some time to explore the Gardens before boarding “Popeye” for a trip back to the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Fruits of the Adelaide Hills

Cost: $130 per person (includes morning tea, lunch and tastings)
This tour will be a feast for your senses as you will experience the variety of food and wine that the Adelaide Hills has to offer. The steep hillsides and valleys are lined with vineyards, orchards, olive groves, dairy farms and market gardens. Your tour will include wine, olive, and olive oil tasting at a local Hill’s Winery and many delicious “fruits” of the Adelaide Hills including artisan cheeses, smoked salmon, olives tomatoes and many more tasty treats!
A Chef’s Lunch
Depart: 9.00am Return: 3.00pm
Cost: $160 per person (includes morning tea and lunch)
Rosa Matto is a well-known food writer and presenter on radio in Adelaide. She is a vibrant, fun loving and bubbly personality with her cooking classes legendary amongst the locals. Come and enjoy, laugh and learn how to produce great food. After a visit to the colourful, bustling Central Market you will enjoy a visit to Haighs Chocolate Factory, then to Rosa’s for a cooking demonstration class, tasting and lots of fun.
Family Day in Port Adelaide
Depart: 9.30am Return: 4.30pm
Cost: $130 for 1 adult and 1 child (includes lunch)
Families will soon discover that Port Adelaide is the historic maritime heart of South Australia and a treasure trove of many other historic attractions. Your day will include a visit to the National Railway Museum – home of the famous tea and ginger train to see the largest undercover collection of locomotives, passenger carriages and freight trains. Enjoy a ride on a miniature train. South Australia’s connections with the sea, water environs in a fun and interesting way at the SA Maritime Museum. Enjoy lunch aboard the Dolphin Explorer as it maneuvers its way along the tranquil Port River and searches, for some of the 30 Bottle Nose dolphins who call the historic river home.
Look into the Interiors – William Morris Discovery Tour

William Morris was one of the most influential figures in the Victorian and Edwardian art world; he was a wonderful creator of textiles, wall paper, stained glass, and highly decorative furniture. Outside of London, Adelaide has the largest William Morris collection on show. This delightful half day tour including a private introduction to the show by the curator of the Art Gallery of South Australia, will immerse you in the luxury of this bygone era. You will also be treated to a tour of Carrick Hill, an Elizabethan style manor house set in outstanding gardens that contains antiques and artwork collected by the original owners Sir Edward and Lady Hayward.

A Taste of Adelaide

Adelaide, with its rich multi-cultural society, has earned its reputation for excellent food and wines. You can sample a taste of Adelaide’s food, wine and culture with a visit to the bustling Adelaide Central Market with its wonderful fresh produce with a tour and tasting along the way. Then travel to Haigh’s Chocolate, which is a long established family business that has been making delicious high quality chocolates since 1915. You will then move onto Lucia’s for the best cup of coffee and lastly to Limoncello for a real Italian experience of the traditional lemon liqueur of Italy originated on the terraced cliffs of the Amalfi coast, now found in Mediterranean Adelaide.
