Abstract:
ATO witnesses deny Tax Administration Act changes would weaken confidentiality and privacy controls and pose a threat to the integrity of the tax system. But the TIA's submission has expressed concern at the breadth of access to taxpayer information that would be given to ASIO by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Legislation Amendment Bill 1999.
