Terence Lewis CTA
Terry has a broad range of experience in the taxation field. In a previous life, he worked for the Australian Taxation Office, in the income tax audit area. Although this was many years ago, it provided him with a good grasp of the environment within the ATO and how best to deal with disputes or potential disputes, if and when they arise. When he left the ATO in 1994 Terry became a tax manager with KPMG Peat Marwick. During his time with KPMG he developed as a specialist in tax matters relating to business enterprises which led to his admission as a partner of KPMG in 2003. His knowledge and experience spans a broad range of tax and structuring issues relating to business enterprises, including capital gains tax, Division 7A (shareholder loans and payments), Superannuation and GST. Terry left KPMG in December 2006 to set up the chartered accounting firm Lewis Richmond, he continued to provide tax consultancy and compliance services within this new firm environment, providing services to a wide range of high wealth family groups, some of which have substantial property holdings. In November 2012 Lewis Richmond merged with William Buck and he is now a Director with William Buck in the Business Advisory area.
