An audit raises a number of conflicting issues which need to be carefully managed and there is a fine line to be drawn between cooperating with the ATO and protecting a taxpayer’s interests. Some of the issues this paper considers are:
- dealing with ATO requests for information
- settlement opportunities and issues
- collection issues.
Robyn joined Clayton Utz's tax practice in 1999 and during her time at Clayton Utz has predominantly acted for large corporate clients in all areas of Australian tax. She has expertise in international tax, taxation of financial transactions, general corporate tax and tax audits and litigation.
