Tax audits presentation

Published on 25 May 07 by NEW SOUTH WALES DIVISION, THE TAX INSTITUTE

An audit raises a number of conflicting issues which need to be carefully managed and there is a fine line to be drawn between cooperating with the ATO and protecting a taxpayer’s interests. Some of the issues this presentation considers are:

  • dealing with ATO requests for information
  • settlement opportunities and issues
  • collection issues.
