24 Oct 08 Australia's Future Tax System ReviewThe Taxation Institute lodged a submission to the Australia's Future Tax System Review (AFTS Review). Our submission brings the AFTS Review Panel's attention to key challenges to Australia's tax-transfer system and identifies a range of options for addressing these challenges in the areas of defining the scope of Australia's taxing powers, company and individual taxation, the taxation of non-cash benefits, and State and Territory taxation.
Taxation Institute President, Sue Williamson FTIA (Clayton Utz, Melbourne), Vice President Joan Roberts FTIA (Harwood Andrews, Melbourne) and Michael Dirkis FTIA also met with Heather Ridout and Greg Smith, members of AFTS Review Panel, on Thursday 23 October 2008. The purpose of the meeting was to have further discussions on tax policy review priorities.
