"Member 1 is “spot on” with his comments! I congratulate him for taking the time out of his busy day to write his submission. The rest of us are equally concerned but too busy to find the time to write in. The ATO misinterprets the thundering silence of the majority as tacit approval of their actions.
I am shocked and disappointed at the ATO response (as outlined by Dr Michael Dirkis) - it smacks of arrogance or stupidity, or both!
I have a dream. I’d like to see these ATO bureaucrats climb down off their high horse and run an accounting practice for a year – then they might appreciate how difficult it is to meet these onerous lodgment deadlines.
No wonder we have an ageing tax agent population – today’s young “turks” have a low tolerance for difficulty so they vote with their feet!"
