"Anyone else sick of receiving updates and broadcasts from the ATO and not being able to obtain any more detailed information about items in them?
For example an update received 5 March referred to a new "program of obligation support visits to help small businesses to stay on their feet during the economic downturn". Go to the web site link provided and it says to ring 13 72 86 FKC 113 for more information. But unfortunately no one there has any more information. By the way I was trying to find out what "practical help" the tax officers would be able to provide to our clients. Also, I found it interesting the ATO doesn't think its necessary to advise tax agents about the visits.
An earlier broadcast about payments of the Tax Bonus simply suggested we should ring 13 72 86 and no FKC!
How about when one arm of the ATO decides to make information available they let the other arm know what's happening."
