"Last week I received a report vie ELS listing clients who are still to lodge their 2008 income tax returns. The due date for lodgment was shown as 15 May 2009. Last night I see the ATO advertising in a local newspaper urging taxpayers to lodge their 2008 tax returns before 30 June 2008 or they wouldn't be entitled to the Tax Bonus. To help out the ATO is making etax available for self lodgers until 30 May 2009.
Why are self preparers given to 30 May when clients of tax agents have to lodge by 15 May? Once again another fine example of how the ATO is working with and helping tax agents! Thanks for nothing."
