"At the end of last week I received a letter from a Deputy Commissioner of Taxation advising that an individual had been granted a deferred lodgment along with thirty eight others for a particular trust. The problem is that this individual and the trust are not my clients. Just in case I was in error I checked the portal and I have no one of that name on my client list. The question is why was this letter sent to me at my office address for a taxpayer who is not a client of my firm? It seems to be a privacy breakdown within the ATO!"
