03 Apr 09 On the ATO's report card - could do betterLast week, TAXVINE reported on the Commissioner's comments following the release of the latest edition of the ATO's Making it easier to comply. The Commissioner said: "Making it easier to comply describes our current and future priorities in delivering better services to you. Our research tells us that our relationship with the community is improving over time, but we also know there are a few areas where our report card says we ‘could do better’". MEMBER 1 writes:
"I don't know which report card the Commissioner refers to but '...there are a few areas where the report card says "could do better"' most definitely is an understatement. I have never had to place so many objections in the span of a year. Not seeing the big fat '0' at T12 and writing 'you have not told us your income from working -supplementary section' on the assessment notice is a cruel favourite. All this and the way 'clients' are being talked to by his juveniles is just shocking."
