"Our firm is in receipt of 3 questionnaires from the ATO regarding "you and your private group structure". The questionnaire on inquiry with the ATO is described as a Survey. It's a fishing expedition, appallingly written, with open ended questions and repetition. The sting is in the request for a list of assets and liabilities including the household contents. Whilst I am happy to explain client structures I feel that the ATO is invading my clients' privacy by the scope of the request. I have been told by the ATO that they will not accept the questionnaire unless the statement of assets and liabilities is included. My answer is still no. How do the rest of the Members feel?"
