"I read that of all of the members of the New Tax Agents/BAS Agents Board not one is a practising Accountant. Is this true? Are we to be governed by people who have no knowledge of what it is like to be at the "coal face"?
Also the ATO is no longer producing the E-Record computer program as they have stated that they cannot continue to keep up the changes. Now E-record was alright for the last 9 years but is now no longer usable. The vast amount of people that have been using E-Record will now all have to purchase commercial software."
TAXVINE COMMENT: At least two of the members of the Board are accountants (and both are members of the Taxation Institute). One is Gordon Cooper FTIA (Life), a former President of the Taxation Institute, and the other is Michael Evans FTIA, a former partner and currently a consultant to KPMG. Two other members of the Board are also distinguished members of the Taxation Institute, Associate Professor Cynthia Coleman FTIA and Professor Dale Pinto FTIA. Member 3, we can therefore assure you that you are in good hands. A full list of the Board members and their backgrounds can be found here
