18 Feb 08 Regs amended for terminal medical conditions

The following regulations were made on 14 February 2008 and registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments on 15 February 2008:

- Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Amendment Regulations 2008 (No 1) (Select Legislative Instrument 2008 No 9)

These Regulations amend the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Regulations 1994 to create a new condition of release to allow persons with a terminal medical condition unrestricted access to their superannuation benefits and also makes minor changes to the definition of a transition to retirement income stream to clarify the intended operation of these rules.

- Retirement Savings Accounts Amendment Regulations 2008 (No 1) (Select Legislative Instrument 2008 No 8)

These Regulations amend the Retirement Savings Accounts Regulations 1997 (the Regulations) to create a new condition of release which allows persons with a terminal medical condition access to the full amount of their benefits and also makes minor changes to the definition of a transition to retirement income stream to clarify the intended operation of these rules, and minor technical changes to the payment rules in the Regulations.
