In a media release issued on 16 October 2009, the Super System Review Panel called for submissions in response to the release of its Phase Two: Operation and Efficiency - Issues Paper. Key issues being considered in the Operation and Efficiency phase include: fees and charges; comparability of funds; defaults; use of technology; competition; administrators and complexity. The closing date for submissions in response to the Phase Two: Operation and Efficiency – Issues paper is 14 December 2009.
The Super System Review is examining Australia's superannuation system in three phases:
- Phase One: Governance;
- Phase Two: Operation and Efficiency; and
- Phase Three: Structure
Self-managed super funds will be looked at principally under Phase Three: Structure.
