The ATO has published the results of the 2006 Tax Agent Portal and Technology Survey, which was conducted by Taylor Nelson Sofres Social Research, an external research consultant, on behalf of the ATO.

The Tax Agent Portal continues to be an area of high satisfaction for tax agents with over two-thirds (70%) of the tax agents surveyed reporting that they found the Tax Agent Portal to be very useful. The individual functions viewed as being most useful were:
- Client accounts: View (66% very useful)
- Client activity statement: View (65% very useful), and
- Add client/delete client (51% very useful).
