31 Oct 1212 ATO advice regarding slow Portal response times

In a broadcast message to tax agents sent on 30 October 2012, the ATO said as follows:

"Since Monday 22 October 2012, the Tax Agent Portal, BAS Agent Portal and Business Portal have been experiencing performance issues. Users continue to be able to access the portals, however are experiencing slower response times.

We understand these slower response times are having a significant impact on your practice and your management of workloads. Since we became aware of the issues, we have given the matter the highest priority and have dedicated experienced staff working to find a resolution.

What we are doing

Over the last week, we have been putting in place multiple corrective actions, which we trust will have translated into slightly improved response times in the portals.

We are actively continuing our investigations and will provide you with regular updates about our progress via the System maintenance and issues page on our website.

We apologise for any inconvenience."
