Cabel Partners, Chartered Accountants, North Sydney, New South Wales, have issued a media release in which it is noted that the ATO is incorrectly calculating the part-year tax-free threshold for working holiday makers when they cease working in Australia. This follows the change in the tax free threshold from $6,000 to $18,200 in the 2012-13 year.

"The Commissioner [has] failed to apply the correct formula for the calculation of the part-year tax-free threshold resulting in a significantly lower refund for the taxpayers," the media release states.
