Advice under development: COVID-19 related guidance
The ATO is currently preparing COVID-19 related guidance in relation to:
- Research and development activities subsidised by JobKeeper payments [4007]
- FBT obligations relating to working from home benefits impacted by COVID-19 pandemic, and calculation of FBT liability
- deductions for bad debts
- income tax and GST obligations of commercial leasing for landlords and tenants (see also consultation matter 202026).
The ATO’s public advice and guidance program continues to have a focus on COVID-19 related issues. However, the ATO has returned to their ongoing program of work and will be updating the status of issues listed here.
ATO Regulator Performance Framework self-assessment report
The ATO has published its 2018–19 ATO Regulator Performance Framework (RPF) self-assessment report. This report addresses the Government’s RPF’s ATO-specific metrics and reporting requirements agreed with the Board of Taxation. It is an assessment of the ATO’s performance as a regulator for 2019–20 against six outcomes-based key performance indicators (KPIs) and associated measures.
