The ATO has identified concerning and fraudulent behaviour and claims by a small number of organisations and employees in relation to making false JobKeeper claims.

The ATO is actively pursue these claims. There are penalties for making a false claim and not complying with your obligations.

Reportable tax position schedule instructions 2020

Use these instructions to help you complete the Reportable tax position (RTP) schedule (NAT 74066). The schedule forms part of your entity’s return.

Note: The ATO no longer notifies taxpayers of their obligation to lodge a Reportable tax position (RTP) schedule. You are required to lodge the schedule if your entity meets certain criteria, even if your entity has no disclosures to make. You may still be required to lodge the schedule even if your entity does not meet the criteria. The ATO will notify you if this is the case.

Livestream event on 29 March 2021: Single Touch Payroll expansion (Phase 2)

From 1 January 2022, you will need to start sending additional payroll information through Single Touch Payroll (STP). This is known as the STP expansion, or STP Phase 2.

The ATO is hosting a livestream event with Services Australia on Monday 29 March 2021 at 1:30pm (AEDT). The discussion will cover:

  • what is STP Phase 2
  • what the changes will mean for you
  • what you can do to get ready.
