12 Mar 10 Change ProgramAfter receiving numerous member complaints in relation to refund delays and the content of the new statement of account and notice of assessment, we have been in contact with the ATO to seek clarification regarding the timing of a resolution for these issues.
In relation to delayed refunds, the ATO has previously indicated that the backlog should be cleared by today 12 March 2010. The ATO will be providing a further processing update next week in relation to whether this has been achieved.
The ATO has indicated that all issues in relation to the statement of account and notice of assessment have been forwarded to the appropriate ATO design team for prioritisation of the issues to be resolved. Consultation with the professional bodies, software developers and others may follow in the future. As yet the ATO cannot provide an indication of when changes may be made.
We will continue to follow up the ATO on these issues until a satisfactory resolution is reached for members.
