The fees to lodge some applications for review with the Administrative Appeals Tribunal will increase on 1 July 2014.
Fees will increase as follows:
- the standard application fee will increase to $861 (up from $816)
- the fee payable for lodging an application in the Small Taxation Claims Tribunal will increase to $85 (up from $81).
There will be no change to the $100 reduced fee that is payable if a person is eligible to pay a reduced fee rather than a standard application fee. (The fee payable for lodging an application in the Small Taxation Claims Tribunal cannot be reduced.)
The changes have been implemented in accordance with the Administrative Appeals Tribunal Regulations 1976. Under reg 19A of those regulations, application fees increase every two years to take into account increases in the CPI.
