The ATO has advised tax professionals that in late March 2015, new functionality is planned to be introduced in the Tax Agent Portal. This new functionality will enable them to access some of their clients' correspondence electronically and in real-time via a client correspondence report.
These changes are aligned with the government's Digital first policy. The ATO says that it is committed to using digital channels as the primary or preferred means of delivery. Further information in relation to this change will be provided closer to the release date.
