MEMBER 173 writes, in response to feedback in last week's TAXVINE - see 2012 TAXVINE No 30 (10 August 2012):
"I refer to MEMBER 168 and their trips to the post office. I hope they have read TAXVINE No 30 in which their comment appeared. The ATO would like payments to be made by BPay. Member 168 should be telling their client to get into the world of internet banking.
In respect of MEMBER 171's comment, what we do in the case of receiving a cheque and then having to ask the client to make a payment back to the ATO, we just send the refund cheque back to the ATO."
