On 9 October 2014, David Johnson CTA (DWS Johnson & Co) attended a consultation with the ATO on tax professionals’ views on the ATO’s online channels. Matters discussed at the consultation included:
- Improving the ATO website search functionality;
- ATO disseminating of information through sms, website, emails and newsletters, and the currency of that information (including information on outages and maintenance);
- Practitioners using bookmarks and direct links to information on the ATO website and the Portal and thereby bypassing messages on the homepages; and
- Support for an optional email alert service for outages.
