Have you incorrectly received a refund?
If you have incorrectly received a tax return refund for a client you no longer represent or you are unable to forward a refund to your client, you need to return the refund to the ATO.

The motor vehicle registries data matching program protocol is prepared and published in accordance with the Guidelines on data matching in Australian Government administration (2014) published by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

ATO strengthens support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
The ATO provides dedicated and tailored support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Assistant Commissioner Karen Foat said, “Our dedicated Indigenous Helpline received a record 25,034 calls last year. This line provides specialised tax and super assistance, tailored to meet the needs of these communities.”
“We know that many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people rely on the helpline to receive tax and super information instead of using online resources. Our staff often provide large amounts of information over the phone; sometimes even talking people through their tax return step by step.”
