"After receiving a report from the ATO this week about our firm's 2012/2103 deferral requests, I phoned the ATO to give them direct feedback that a report 10 months after the fact was of no use to anyone. They accepted the feedback and advised they would try to get reports out more promptly in future.

It appears they have taken the feedback to heart because on reviewing the ATO website on (4 April 2014) the ATO have used their latest weapon against tax evasion, a time machine, to go into the future to update their website to advise everyone about lodgment deferrals.

The bottom of the website page reads 'Last modified 15 May 2014' (5 weeks into the future).
