"Being semi-retired and having only a small clutch of clients, I have not suffered badly from the current ATO administration. However, I have a suggestion - some time back one of our Members suggested that clients make a claim for compensation from the ATO for costs of ATO mistakes. I did this in a case where the ATO lost half of a paper Super Return, and I went to some trouble and time to fix their mistake. I agreed with the client to make the compensation claim, charged for my time and submitted the claim. Paid without a murmur.

If you all did this for every client stuff up, don't gasp, you could be paid for all that extra time, and the ATO might wake up to what is going on."
