"The quick answer to Member 206's problem with the banks - see 2011 TAXVINE No 44 (11 November 2011) - is that there are two types of bank Johnny - those that know what they are doing who ask for confirmation that the client does not have a balance due to the ATO - and there are those who have a form to fill in that they don't understand and just ask for everything - like assessments for trusts and partnerships because somewhere on the form there is a reference to tax assessment notices. See, it isn't only the ATO who have trouble finding which way is up!"
