04 Jul 14 More on the ATO website
The ATO responds to an issue raised by Member 75 - see 2014 TaxVine No 22 (27 June 2014) - about unannounced changes to the ATO website.
“Although we were unable to advise of the changes to the content at the time the revised document was published, we included the following in the Tax professionals newsletter which issued on 26 June 2014:
‘Avoiding common mistakes – Taxable payments reporting
We have updated Taxable payments reporting – building and construction industry to include tips on how to avoid making common mistakes when completing the taxable payments annual reports for building and construction businesses.’
All tax professionals are encouraged to subscribe to the Tax professionals newsletter.
We note your feedback and acknowledge that there are concerns for users of the website in understanding what has changed in key content. We are considering all feedback received.
Through the ATO Tax Practitioner Advisory Group (ATPAG) we plan to work with tax professionals and intermediaries to better understand tax practitioner needs and how we might address them in the future.
We will then liaise with our IT specialists to investigate possible technical solutions
Thank you for your feedback. We will keep tax practitioners informed of our progress through our consultative networks.”
