In response to feedback from Members 199 and 200 regarding the new ATO website - see 2013 TAXVINE No 35 (13 September 2013) -, the ATO provides the following comments:
"The content on the new website was designed to be viewed on the web as a series of related but stand-alone pages to accommodate users who have a specific enquiry or task. We are aware, however, that tax agents would like to be able to print web content as a single document. We are actively working to address this problem and expect to have a solution available before the end of the year.
We are aware of some ongoing issues with regard to the search function on ato.gov.au and we have recently deployed one of a series of fixes aimed to rectify these issues. Nat number and quick code (QC) searches are now available. We also have in place an ongoing improvement program which includes the development of ‘best bets’ and improvements in basic search results.
If you are using Google to search for ATO information, just type ATO and your own search terms into the Google search box and ensure that you use the correctly dated information.
We will publish an issues registers to the System maintenance and issues section in the near future to ensure you are aware of the work being undertaken to address and rectify these issues."
