“It is on again.

Some 5 weeks ago had a company ABN application rejected, at the time by phone twice for long times were advised. There was nothing wrong with the application, no adverse indicators, a system error was occurring in relation to associate identification. I did a second application on their advice, did not work. The technician advised it was a known issue and would be referred along, and an ABN would issue.

I waited 28 days, of course nothing happened. Phoned again, another long phone call. Escalated on phone, then advised they have a lot of these, there was nothing wrong with the application and we should send in manual application for them to process.

As it is a department error I did a complaint, and as per Service Standard should be fixed within 14 days. Complaints Office advised they have huge number of these cases, to email her the application and they will refer it to be processed ‘someone, somewhere, sometime’.

So well over 6 weeks ABR has had a known problem without any fix, temporary or otherwise.

The company sits in limbo without an ABN or TFN.

Simply pitiful administration.

Fellow tax agents, be prepared if a company has a declined ABN application.”
