In last week's TAXVINE - see 2014 TAXVINE No 9 (4 April 2014) - Member 28 was very critical of the ATO's lack of response to their consultation request submitted through the ATO's new consultation hub. The
ATO now responds:
"The ATO remains committed to consulting with the community in relation to matters in the national interest that improve the administration of the tax and superannuation systems.
We have extended our apologies to Member 28 [2014 TaxVine No 09], whose submission was sent by the member but not received in our mailbox.
We are now progressing the matter raised by this member.
Our Consultation Hub works to ensure that the ATO has all the information necessary to understand and progress matters submitted to us.
We encourage you to continue to raise matters for consultation via the ATO consultation submission form."
