"I have today received a letter from the ATO about clients who are claiming work related expenses which I find offensive.
I read the letter to clients as suggesting that claims have been made incorrectly. Also, it points clients to the ATO website for information or to the ATO phone number but does not suggest clients should contact me.
The ATO letter to me asks me to remind clients to only claim expenses they are entitled to. This suggests they have made previous claims that they weren't entitled to which is wrong and offensive."
