"When is this problem of phone calls dropping out when the Australian Taxation Office put agents on hold going to be fixed?

Most people we speak to at the ATO know about it, yet nothing is done to fix it. I now ask for the full details of the person at the other end (name, ATO office, team etc) and give my number if I can before being put on hold.

Had another two such instances today over the same matter where the line goes dead while on hold. Lucky I and the ATO officer had each other's call back details.

It is not good enough that this problem continues with the ATO's phone system."
