"I rang the ATO to change a client to Annual PAYG Instalments - it ended up taking over 21 minutes to do.
In the end I had to be somewhere else and had to hang up. I called back this morning to check and the change had been done - apparently the 'system' is extremely complicated - up to four forms have to be completed and each one must be finalised before the next one can be started.
Why couldn't the 'system' just have a field storing an 'A' for an annual person and a 'Q' for a quarterly person?
That process should have taken 10 seconds not 21 minutes."
