"Just tried to make a payment arrangement for an amount under $10,000 for a client using the ATO’s automated system. After running through the prompts, machine says 'our records show you shouldn’t be using this system, please wait while we transfer you to an ATO officer'. Wait five minutes to speak to someone, then  run through ID process, then told they can’t deal with it because it has been referred to a debt collection agency. Speak to debt collection agency, run through proof of ID, then told they can’t make the arrangement because the debt figure hasn’t been updated for a recent BAS amount. We now have to wait until another letter comes out from debt collection agency.

Yet another wonderful ATO system."
