"So many emails and broadcasts recently regarding Payment Slips, yet the system is still broken.

How to get a Payment Slip for the Income Tax Account of a new company (or superannuation fund)? ABN and TFN were issued 12 months ago, yet there's no income tax account showing in the Pothole, so no Payment Slip either.

What to do? How to send simple payment instructions (Payment Slip?) to new client together with Income Tax Return? Do we send a Payment Slip for the Integrated Account, and let ATO sort out the mess later (after numerous overdue notices, outsourced debt collection, demands for payment, useless phone calls, etc)?

We dream that one-day the ATO operatives might get some simple things right. Alas, not in my lifetime.

TAXVINE COMMENT: Tax Counsel Tamera Lang ATIA advises TAXVINE that the ATO website suggests that "Clients with an Australian business number can generate payment slips for activity statement and income tax obligations through our automated self-help service - ATO Business Direct, available 24 hours, on 13 72 26."
