"I received the list of overdue client returns today and on that list was a deceased estate client who I had recently deleted in the bulk deletion offer from the ATO. I therefore had to add the estate back on my client listing. When I checked his lodgment status it showed a 2010 return as assessed and 2011 and 2012 as not necessary yet the ATO letter states that the 2011 income tax return is overdue. How can it be overdue when it was previously advised by me as 'Not Necessary'? Once again another 'SNAFU' from our fearless masters. To all fellow readers of TAXVINE I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year."
