“During August last year, we lodged a simple 2012 amendment request for an individual to include their private health insurance offset which the taxpayer had inadvertently omitted from the original return. The amendment request was lodged on paper.
The ATO have still not been able to process the amendment due to a system error. I’ve tried escalating the matter and all I get told is that the ATO are still working on it.
Has anyone else had such dramas with simple amendment requests? Numerous phone calls to the ATO asking for status updates is wasting my time, which is all the more precious given the 85% on time lodgment target we have to hit.”
