On small payments for Austudy claims

“Some of the amounts being credited to our trust account defy common sense. Today we had several smallish amounts received including one for 3 cents.
Surely common sense should prevail whereby the ATO simply credits the taxpayer’s account so that in fact upon lodgment of the following year’s tax return the Austudy refund is added to that year’s assessment.
Being a sole practitioner with over 5500 clients we are faced with the same dilemma with administration costs as we did with that wonderful previous $900 bonus from Mr Rudd. At least the ATO decided to reimburse us approximately $9500 for that debacle.”
