THE ATO RESPONDS to the feedback from Member 107 in last week's edition of TAXVINE - see 2014 TAXVINE No 27 (1 August 2014):
"The ATO is transforming and we are working to streamline interactions. The transition of all forms and services currently in Electronic Lodgment Services to Standard Business Reporting is an example of how we are moving towards the future of digital online interactions. The standard business reporting new technology platform will provide an enriched experience for transacting online and providing real time interactions through practice management software.
The ATO is committed to continuing to provide contemporary services to the community with improved and new benefits and we are working closely with the Tax Practitioner community and software developers to transition these services effectively.
The ATO portals will continue to offer the current services however there are no immediate plans to add new functionality or services. We will be consulting and co-designing with professional associations, software developers and tax practitioners to inform what future services and functions there may be for the ATO Portals. To keep informed about any updates or consultation please visit News and updates for tax professionals."
