"I have been waiting for a few weeks for a statement of account for 3 superannuation funds to show that their 2010 tax returns have been lodged. After not receiving them, but noticing that the return has been processed on the Portal, I contacted the ATO to discover that statements of account are no longer generated on lodgment of a tax return. I find this very unprofessional as we no longer have an ATO document to show our client that their return has been lodged (and tax paid or payment slip enclosed etc). Not only do we have to generate payment slips ourselves, we now have to print out the statement of account to show clients returns have been lodged. Does anyone else have an issue with this? If you agree with me that this is not good enough, please contact the ATO and provide feedback."
