THE ATO RESPONDS to the feedback from Members 94 and 95 in last week's edition of TAXVINE - see 2014 TAXVINE No 26 (25 July 2014):
"Thank you for your feedback about the on-time lodgment program performance requirements and in particular the tone of the performance letters and the recognition of situations where tax agents are managing the obligations of clients with prior year outstanding returns. We have also received a deal of comment and constructive suggestions from other practitioners and associations on the program and will be discussing all the feedback along with other Lodgment Program framework matters, at the next Lodgment Working Group meeting, scheduled for 11 August 2014. We understand the concerns of practitioners and through the working group are aiming to refine the program to address these concerns."
